IdeasCity > New Orleans > About
Through the theme of Everyday Festival, IdeasCity New Orleans took place April 15–20, 2019 and featured a residency of emerging practitioners working at the intersections of urbanism, art, design, community activism, and technology. In tandem with local partners, IdeasCity New Orleans — for the first time — supported the prototyping of selected cultural, ecological, and material strategies at public sites. Temporary projects addressing environmental justice were mounted in key locations of the Tremé neighborhood in collaboration with the following organizations: Bell Artspace, New Orleans African American Museum, Junebug Productions, and the Propeller Incubator. IdeasCity New Orleans culminated in a high-profile public program and day-long festival on Saturday, April 20th.
